DEPTHS OF INDIGO 1

Depths of Indigo 1 is a fascinating study of juxtaposition using a hyper-abstraction style. The work on canvas plays in dualities of composition. Two contrasting scenes present a tranquil motif in the upper portion of the picture plane offset by a turbulent vista in the lower. A strong implied line separating the two views offers a bit of balance. Variations are made more pronounced by a nearly solid color field on top set off by multiple tonalities below.
